Shard asked:
I am going to Spain in a few months, and have taken Spanish in high school and a class in college. I haven’t used my Spanish for several years. I can understand some, and remember basic phrases. Will this be enough to get by?

Go to download.com and download Virtual Teacher. This is a little programme showing flash cards with every day Spanish words. It is very unobtrusive and you can have it as small or as large as you like.Looking at these words you will be amazed at actually how much you do know. Any words you find difficult to remember write them down in a little notebook with the English translation. If you are travelling around Spain then learn directions ie, straight on, Lt at the crossroads etc. Take a phrasebook/dictionary and a map. Try to speak a little Spanish, whether you are in a coastal resort or inland, it will be much appreciated. Bring your sun screen and your smile
